With the rising numbers of COVID-19 patients, there has been speculations of another lockdown to curb the spread. However according to New Vision’s Nelson Kiva, FDC’s former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye has opposed the move.
The opposition strongman is said to be against another lockdown saying it is not desirable. Dr Besigye instead advised the public to work on boosting their immunity. He further blamed the increase of cases on mismanagement by government when it failed to stop trucks while the country was in lockdown
Ministry for Kampala last week warned there was to be a lockdown imposed in the capital city. This was due to failure in observance of the issued Standard Operating Procedures by the public.
This was followed by a press statement issued by the minister for National Guidance Judith Nabakooba. The minister stated that government may be forced to impose another lock down with the current situation.
